We have started a new adventure into the Fainter goats. We did a lot of research into this old landrace breed-meaning they have been in the United States a long time. Their existence was first discovered in Tennessee in the 1880's. We intend to keep the breed pure with our purchase of 3 100% does and 1 100% buck. We wanted to be sure we would like them before venturing any further and now we know! They are docile, easy on fences, quiet natured, loving, great mothers, and easy to handle. They are very parasite resistant, have great hooves, and are great mothers!
The buck (Burrito) is gentle and sweet and displays Myotonia-falling over if he even thinks you are going to feed him! We bred him to our Boers and Boer crosses which are due in March so we will see how he does. Well, he did a great job-we have 35 does and bucklings born the first week of March. They are heavy and tough. Much hardier than the Boer. If you want to add meat to your herd this is the way to go!
We have 3 bucklings available from Burrito. They show fast growth, heavily muscled and parasite resistant. (They are also beautiful!)
